Wii U

The Wii U is Nintendo's latest gaming console. It is able to be used with a Wii U GamePad, Wii Remotes, the Nunchuk, and the Classic Controller Pro. Unlike its predecessor, the Wii, it cannot play GameCube games or use GameCube controllers. The Wii U GamePad gives the player the ability to use two screens, which is like the Nintendo 3DS with its dual screens. The screen on the Wii U GamePad is used by touching it with a stylus.

The communicator

The features of the Wii U GamePad are used to their best in Lego City: Undercover. The GamePad is used as a communicator for Chase McCain, utilizing a great map system, a wonderful police scanner, a nifty video message system, and it even keeps track of all the progress you've made. While in scanner mode, you move the GamePad around to zone in on targeted information.

The only thing that is annoying about the communicator is that sometimes Ellie Phillips will keep trying to contact you over and over again, resulting in a loud, irritating ringtone that keeps going and going. If you try to turn the sound off on the GamePad, then the sound effect happens on the TV instead. Even if you answer the call, after a while, Ellie will send you a reminder about the assignment that you're currently on. After that, she will do it again and again without any end unless you go ahead and start the assignment. There is no way to disable this problem.

However, the overall effect of the GamePad is great and the Wii U offers a wonderful experience for players of Lego City: Undercover.
